Hosted by BC Society of Engineering & Geoscience (BC SEG) Central Interior Branch:
Join us for the 28th annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Building Competition β a fun and creative engineering challenge for young builders and adults alike!
Participants will design and construct bridges using popsicle sticks*, which will then be tested for strength and evaluated on how they perform under βThe Crusherβ.
*Popsicle stick bridges must be constructed using 100 standard popsicle sticks and white school glue (can use your own or obtain one of the free kits) in advance of the event, and adhere to the rules and specifications outlined in the competition package (see the BC SEG Event webpage below for the rules and instructions, and additional details like kit pick-up locations).
Categories include multiple youth age groups as well as an adult division.
This event encourages creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning while celebrating the fundamentals of structural engineering.
A perfect way to celebrate National Engineering and Geoscience Month and inspire the next generation of Engineers!
