Starting Location: Lhuhuhwhezdel (The Gathering Place)
Join UNBC Sustainability and the First Nations Centre on a tour of the forests around UNBC! Learn more about traditional medicines, foods, and more depth about the plants that surround us every day. This is also a great opportunity to learn about the trail network that stretches across the whole Cranbrook Hill escarpment that is open for hiking!
Salve-Making Workshop:
Starts: 12:30 PM | Finishes: 2:00 PM
Location: Lhuhuhwhezdel (The Gathering Place)
Join Master in Biology and Manager of Indigenous Services and Strategic Initiatives Holly McVea in a salve-making workshop. The workshop will use one of the Traditional Medicines learned about in the Plant Tour: yarrow! The workshop goes through the steps of turning yarrow into a usable salve that soothes skin irritation and minor cuts.
